Terms of Service

Welcome to Puffin: Local Mate. By using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Puffin. By creating an account you confirm that all information you provide is accurate.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You may not impersonate others or create accounts on someone else's behalf.
• One person, one account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or harm other users.
• Post illegal, hateful, sexual, or violent content.
• Solicit money, scams, or fraud through the app.
• Share financial info, home addresses, or other sensitive personal data of yourself or others.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without our written permission.

4. Local guides

Puffin connects travelers with local guides. We do not employ guides — they are independent users. Any service or payment between a traveler and a guide is between those two parties. Puffin is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of services arranged outside the app.

5. Reviews and reports

Reviews and ratings must be honest. We may remove fake or abusive reviews. Reports of misconduct are investigated within 24 hours; malicious reporting can result in account suspension.

6. Safety

Puffin is a connection platform, not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number first (e.g. 112 in EU, 911 in US). The in-app SOS provides location sharing and language translation tools as supplementary help.

7. Content ownership

You retain ownership of the content you post (photos, travel plans, messages). By posting, you grant Puffin a limited license to display the content inside the app for the purpose of providing the service.

8. Account termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Puffin is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of guide profiles, availability of services, or uninterrupted operation of the app.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Puffin is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, interactions with other users, or services arranged through it.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
